About This Spot

The space hums with a comfortable, easygoing energy—bright but unhurried, with a gentle background murmur of friendly chatter and the occasional sizzle from the grill. It’s the kind of spot where families gather, friends linger over shared plates, and servers move attentively but without rush, creating an inviting rhythm that suits both casual meals and quiet celebrations.

There’s no need to fret over complicated orders or grilling finesse—the staff are quick to assist, balancing hands-on help with unobtrusive service that makes everyone feel at ease. The cozy booths and neatly arranged tables invite a slow unfolding of flavors—whether it’s the gentle richness of pork neck or the comforting warmth of a bubbling kimchi stew. Side dishes quietly enrich the experience, offering small moments of discovery that complement each mouthful.

Among the charm of The Gogi are these tender moments of connection—be it the shared task of grilling the meat or the careful pouring of soju to toast a good day. It strikes a balance between lively and intimate, clean and casual, genuine and familiar. This is a place where the pace invites you to pause, enjoy the simple pleasure of food made with care, and savor the shared stories happening right across the table.

I have been to some of the Korean bbqs in SG if not many and i found them the best of the lot. So much so that I have been there 6 times now. I might be going again today. At this point, I am almost a regular there. I have taken my friends there as well and they have liked it too. Would recommend anyone to go atleast even once. Their service is really good and the food is also great.

Good atmosphere with a pleasant, not-too-noisy vibe, and the whole restaurant is very clean. The staff are friendly and even helped us grill the BBQ, which was nice. The meat quality isn’t top-notch, but it’s decent for the price.

Walked in early and was warmly greeted by Korean boss/manager who immediately showed us that the seats of the chair can be lifted up to store our belongings. When we feedback that the first steak was overcooked, no questions were asked and it was immediately replaced by a new piece. We enjoyed the rest of beef and pork cooked by our server Cindy. She even volunteered to take a group photo for us when she saw us struggling with a wefie. The scallion pancake was crispy on the outside, mochi-like within, and loaded with seafood. The cheese buldak was wonderfully fried and delicious but at $40, it’s pretty steep in price for chicken. Overall, a great dinning experience here.

It was my first time dining here, and I had a wonderful experience! My good friend brought us along after her daughter had highly recommended the place to her mum before and they did dine with their friends and it definitely lived up to the praise. Their service staff, Rogie, was very attentive and recommended the pork neck, which has just the right amount of fat. We tried both the original and marinated versions, and Cindy kindly helped us grill the meat perfectly at our table. We preferred the leaner cuts, and both were delicious! The restaurant also served the classic Korean side dishes — kimchi, diced radish kimchi, and pickled white radish marinated in vinegar and sugar. Each bite was crisp and refreshing. We also enjoyed steamed egg, spicy sticky rice with fish cake, and scallion and seafood pancake. The sweet sauce complemented the dishes nicely, though I personally prefer it a little less sweet. Rogie’s recommendation of the pancake was spot on — it was crispy and tasty! My only small suggestion would be for the staff to check with customers if they prefer the pancake slightly saltier. Overall, it was a delightful meal with great service and food recommendations. I’ll definitely be back or recommend this place to friends too!

I absolutely love this place. Stumbled upon it a few months back and it is now firmly on my top 5 list of favourites restaurants. Ask for Ken, he is so kind and cooks like a boss! I like that you don't walk away smelling like smoke and staff really know how to bbq the meat super well to get the best flavour. Great ban chans too.

Great place for Korea fix. Very nice, friendly and attentive staff (Ken and Cindy) Thank you Ken for the advice on free 2-hour parking with more than $30 spent. Cindy patiently grills our food to perfection. The food was great and also lots of condiments. Great dining experience!!!!

For fans of Korean food, you can come here to get your fix. As far as we know, it's Korean owned or run by Koreans and the food felt authentic, up to the varieties of side dishes and utensils. Located in Alexandra Central, it's usually crowded during dinner but it was okay in the afternoon. We were there at 2 on Saturday today and we were the second table although there were more tables filled during our time there. The staff cooked for us, back then or I think it’s optional, you can cook yourself too. She was also very helpful in giving us refill of side dishes and drink. The cashier was also very friendly. The food was delicious. It's more on premium price but it comes with premium quality as well. The Kimchi soup was tasty. Rice was expensive, I believe it costs $4 a bowl and not as filling. The tea was free if I understood the bill correctly because we didn't bring our receipt home. Is it worth it? I think it is. The food and service are top quality.
